Haiku my Heart

Today is the day
He returns to the desert
I want to stop time

I want to stop war
I want my son to come home
All I want is PEACE

Mermaid Dreams

“The Sea,
once it casts its spell,
holds one in its net of wonder forever.”
~Jacques Cousteau~

R&R

rest and relaxation. sun. sand. food. family. it was 7 days crammed all into one huge house on the surfside of  The Outer banks North Carolina. I wish it could have lasted just a teeny bit longer.

oh that smile

We are still on the road....traveled from Texas to Florida, then up to North Carolina, spent one glorious week with my beautiful son, his wife and other assorted family members. He has one more week of R&R, then returns to serve his second half tour of duty in Iraq.  For now, this photo tells it all....I would drive a million miles for that smile.

dance until you let go

“ hearing the first notes inside herself,

her eyes got wide.

growing louder and stronger,

colors began mixing with the sounds.

holding on tight and letting go all at once,

she stepped back into the dance. ”

We are on the road to meet him. I am honored and beyond excited to be a part of his week in North Carolina, Outer Banks with family and friends.

so there

some days are just plain ol hard. This week has been full of those hard days...moving studio space, shuffling around all my good shit, tossing the moldy stuff, love letters from old flames that are now stone cold... packing, sweating, cussing, crying.

Then I turn around and Matt has me laughing again, reminding me that this too shall pass, and ALWAYS , always and forever....at the end of each day, we still have each other and are crazy in love. Nuff said.

Paint a Saint at Casa de Arte

 by Deb Taylor
Announcing yet another project, here at CASA DE ARTE . Mary Lou and I are collaborating teaching and hosting art workshops including painting, cooking and mixed media. Visit the Casa de Arte blog often as we schedule 2-4 classes each month beginning this Saturday. I have never painted, and really don't like the sport of it at all...but after one session with Mary Lou, I painted 5 more Saints!! And three of them sold!
