Big Ass Heart and Texas Pies

Tonight our friend Bud Royer "The Pie Man" is driving in a van from Round Top, Texas to New York/New Jersey with 650 pies and giftcards to deliver to Sandy Survivors who are still living in shelters.
Now you might wonder how can a van hold 650 pies?

But what I really want to know is how in the world can a van be big enough to contain the heart of this Man?

He is father, husband, grandpa, friend, pie steward...all wrapped around a ginormous heart of generosity.

We have worked with this family at Royers Cafe
and witnessed their genuine compassion

{ if you are wondering about a photo of the pies....
sorry....there is nothing sweeter than the generous helping of a giving heart}

So let it be true....
Texas is the only State big enough
to contain the hearts of the Royer Family.

Letting go of the holding on

January 11, 2010. Carmine, Texas

After a long weekend in Florida to celebrate Jacks 80th birthday, we returned home to find our home flooded. Our business, Heritage Haus Bed & Breakfast was saturated from broken pipes in the attic.

I stood on the bare naked bones of my home

I stared my truth in the face and it wrecked me...
it slapped me right back in the ass

we scraped, painted, hammered and repaired

determined to re-open

 shiny and new
 Home Sweet Home

Fast forward to our move to Florida.

 No
Let it go

Now my truth is on the floor...I am reassembling, unraveling
regenerating and reinventing....THIS IS MY TRUTH

Life is good.
Life is by the Beach.
Life is in a tiny house with no room for "all that"
So now the time has come to disassemble, let go, unravel .

Sharing my Joy

Looking back just a few years ago when Matt and I lived in Texas,
I decided to post some of our early-together photos because this week we celebrated his life here on Earth...54 years!
For two months he can't call me his "Old Lady" because
we are the same age, until January when I celebrate my 55th !!

Happy Birthday Matt
