which came first?

When you come out from behind the computer screen and gather with a blogger friend to realize that maybe you already knew each other before the blogosphere? Not so much previous life shit, just already knowing you would be friends in real life, minus the blogposts, comments and photographs.

This was my fifth time to meet and greet an online friend.
Hashi lives in L.A. originally from Australia. (Yes, she has that delightful accent we love to listen to.) Our similarities include being green and crunchy, vegetarians who love to throw a dinner party, dance, drink red wine and cold beer, neither of us own a TV, we sew gifts for friends, photograph special moments, we are thrift store junkies and unimpressed with fame and fortune. We love our tattered and patched jeans.

and her name is Deborah
spelled just like me!
(and she is almost ASL certified....one of my fantasies to become an interpreter for the deaf)

so which came first...the blog or the friendship?
Not that it matters...
of course the blog was our connection, but it seems like we already knew each other.
Thank you Bloggyhood

Love this post! It is very inspiring that you have met such amazing people from your blogging.

I need to convert 2 of my favorite jeans that now have holes in them to having these amazing patches on them. I would love some help on knowing what to do.

I love you Deb!

What a beautiful story! One of the things I love about blogging is meeting the wonderful people that you may not have have the fortune of meeting in person. Having the opportunity to meet them face to face is such a sweet blessing.

Hi Deb - the happiest part of blogging for me has been the new friendships I've made. The face to faces that I've enjoyed are many and repeats have been normal since then. My last "first contact" was meeting Gemma and Anna in Phoenix. We had so much fun, I was so thrilled to meet them that I'm already planning a return visit next spring. Now THAT is rapture.

I too had the opportunity to meet some blogfriends 'for real' - and that wonderful feeling of connection. You describe it so well!

Isn't it rich to find a soul sister? That's one of the best meanings of "abundance."

yeah to friendships forged in the bloggyhood and to meet-ups!

they are very exciting. i'm blessed to have had quite a few face-to-face encounters with my bloggy friends - and always look forward to new ones!

i've picked up a couple very close friendships and even a new fairy goddaughter (daughter of one of my bloggybuds turned close friend) who is attending nearby oberlin college.

love how the circle grows!

i make quasi regular trips to tejas - what joy if we find our paths crossing!

wv:milike! yeah me like!!!
