doorways and doughbowls

I shot these photos recently in Missouri at the home
of my brother-in-law and his wife, Scott and Dee Hager.
The walls are pieced together with hand hewn logs 12 inches thick.
Can you imagine the hours spent kneading bread
in these doughbowls that are 4 feet long?

Everything in this home must be over 100 years old
Can you imagine the stories to be told?
The crocks and tables and floors...oh the stories they hold

sit with me
here now
and spin me a tale

how many shades and textures are found in those pictures?! An eye could wander for a long time there

What interesting colours and textures. Wouldn't it be great to sit and talk and while away the day.

This is a captivating collection of images that whisper of the stories of the past, while telling a story of being in the present.

great pics....I live near Boston, so I get to see so many of these old homes and barns....In fact, the house my sister owned was over 150 yrs. old....always needed some work, but it had so much character!

I love the interior photo which includes the ceiling.
And the stairway with your shadow.
It's a beautiful place
and perfect for spinning stories.
