What to do with a water stained fabulous old chair?
This gives me complete JOY to rescue something
that otherwise would have been tossed away
Buy some Liquid Rit Dye. "Wine" is the color.
Drag it outside on a bright sunny day.
Brush it on, using wild abandon, giggling about all the times
you have spilled red wine on nice furniture.
Let dry
Drag it into a field for a self portrait
(Thank you Matt)

what did you do this week to provide yourself with complete JOY?

I did "spring cleaning" in my garden!!!!
Wow -- you're the Rescue Goddess! I didn't know you could paint on dye and have it take like that. Did you know it would work before you did it or were you trusting your hunch? Great results, in either case.
Wild abandonment always seems to come up triumphant bringing lots of JOY!

I don't believe in throwing anything away, unless it's absolute trash. Your antique chair's transformation is nothing short of amazing! I dye clothing all the time, but never considered painting it on upholstery!!! Uber cool!
Beautiful! And now I am thinking of testing this out on an ottoman...
i came to your site...
