Imagine Create Inspire

So many have asked how to boil the perfect shrimp, so here it is...and YAY! for Terri Thomas, the winner of my Scissor Sista Pin Cushion. She will live in her new itty bitty art studio where her job is to be the keeper of scissors and always be a Muse when Terri needs one! So when you are lucky enough to get FRESH shrimp put on a big pot of water to boil, enough to cover the amount of shrimp you have. Halve a few lemons, squeeze in to the water and throw them into the water. Toss in a handful of whole cloves and black peppercorns, two or three whole bay leaves and half a handful of red pepper flakes and a couple whole sticks of cinnamon bark. Simmer this brew at a low boil for at least 30 minutes to bring out all the goodness. Just before adding shrimp, bring to a full rolling boil. Toss in all shrimp. DO NOT BRING BACK TO A BOIL. Just turn off the heat, and sit three minutes. If you boil or let sit longer, you will have Shrimp Rubber. Now drain, peel and eat!!
