Freedom

My friend "Freedom" is a woman whom I have befriended via my blog. She lives in Greece. She mailed me a gift. It is a handcrafted tree she says is "lucky" to be with me. I believe her. For this is going to be my 2010 token I call FREEDOM. It will travel with me, comfort me and remind me. I am planting HOPE for FREEDOM. This is the year my son will deploy to Iraq for his second tour of duty. It is my hope that each and every one of our soldiers will return home safe and sound. This tree also represents a sense of freedom that I live by....I change with the wind. YEP, those of you who have known me for so many years, are grinning right now. I am not afraid to change, to risk, to free-fall. Yet with all the wild leaves, bent branches and swaying trunk...I REFUSE TO BREAK! I remain steadfast in love and to be alive. And it my sincere wish, hope and prayer for us all to be free of cancer, worry, debt, fear and insomnia. Nuff said.
The best time to plant a tree was 20 years ago. The next best time is now. ~Chinese Proverb~

Deb,
I love your tree and what it represents to you. What a great friend you have. You mention the word HOPE in your post and that just happens to be the word I am featuring for tomorrow's post. I will be doing a link back to your post for more reader inspiration. God bless you, your son, and all our soldiers in 2010.

What a touching, and powerful post! The little tree became a symbol of something new and strong! I never imagine that. Your sense of freedom is fascinating! You REFUSE to BREAK!!! The only thing I could say is that the trees except leaves, branshes and trunks have also roots. And your roots are very very deep and strong. And I have right, both, the little tree and me are lucky that found YOU! Many, many kisses my sweet friend.

That's a beautiful, meaningful gift with a wonderful message. I find it so very inspiring to hear of how you've made a point of living your life with in a freeing manner. It definitely comes through in your photos... in your posture, your smile, your comfortable being-yourselfness. I sensed it right away when I first came across your blog a couple of years ago and it's made me keep coming back to see what Deb's doing! I love this blessing you closed with here and I second it wholeheartedly. May we all be free of all that worrisome stuff and remember the powerful magick in the present moment. xoxo Serena
