resume

as I return to some sort of normalcy, I am resuming to some simple pleasures like editing photographs and cooking dinner! After a hot pot of Lemony Lentil Soup and spinach salad, I simmered up some Aztec Hot Chocolate...here's how I did it...simmer on a very low heat 1/2 cup water, 1 1/2 cup milk, 2 tablespoons sugar, one cardamon pod, one cinnamon stick, 4 whole cloves, heavy pinch of crushed red pepper flakes, one slice of fresh ginger until flavors release and steamy hot. With a wire whisk stir in 1/4 cup unsweetened dark cocoa and 1 teaspoon good quality vanilla. Strain into two large mugs, serve with whipped cream if desired. I preferred to add some brandy, but was out of stock, so Amaretto did me just fine!
