Of course I hang on tight, she said.

You can't believe the kind of stuff that happens when you let go

all dried up

photo by me, inspired by Spider Johnson
 Dear Tropical Storm Don,
You have really disappointed me.
I was certain you were going to be my Summer Hero.
But no.
You shriveled... and dried up on me.
Shame on you.
Texas is pissed.

August Break 2011

August Break 2011

Dear July,
I am happy to see you go.
In three days I will be in the arms of my son and his wife.
A place I need to be for a few days.
They say maybe a cool mountain stream to float along in Virginia!
Ahhh, sounds delicious after being parched all summer here in drought stricken Texas.
Matt will stay behind here climbing scaffolding, sanding and painting.
We are so close to finalizing the downstairs.
I simply need to wash away the dust and gear up for the upcoming Antique Festival Season,
And look into those eyes of my One Son and witness the joy in Rachel's face.

The following weeks will be splashed with photos of summery delights like bikinis and beaches,
sunkissed noses and melting Margaritas with salt please.

Hello August...bring it on...show me what ya got!
