Secret Messages

I have so many collections of totems all around my home, adornments for my body and even in my car. Of course when I find a feather, I believe it truly is a secret message for me at that very moment, so I take it home, place it inside the jar among  the other hundreds I have collected. Same thing with seashells...millions gather in and outside my home !

What are your lucky talismans, tokens and collections? Tell me...

Truth or Dare: Have an affair with yourself

I dare you... HAVE AN AFFAIR...

You
With you
Only you
Beautiful you
Pour the wine
Light the candles
Soak in bubbles
For you
Only you
Sleep late
Masturbate
Cuss like a sailor
Cry like a baby
Moan like a lover
Sing out loud
Dance naked
Be proud
Of you
With you
Only you
Beautiful you
I DARE YOU…..

…the truth is
We blog about it
We talk about it
We hear about it
We all want it….
But are we doing it?

I AM TALKING ABOUT SELF CARE, SELF LOVE.
Honor your body
Romance your own heart
Flirt with yourself
Own self-worth

Did you breathe deeply, slowly, mindful this morning?
Or was that last week in Yoga session?
Did you nurture your body with a healthy breakfast?
Or eat in the car on way to work?
Did you buy those flowers for yourself you admired while standing in line at the grocery store?

Or are you waiting for someone else to bring them home?
Did you buy your girlfriend that Spa package for her birthday, only wishing it could be YOUR day?

I DARE YOU.
Buy it
Do it
You are the only one who knows what you need,
what you want...
and how long you want it for!
Come on…seduce your self

I DARE YOU
Have an affair.
You deserve yourself!

Why do I blog?

And what have I been up to? Just exactly what is Deb doing these days?

I was invited by Suzanne to a blog tour and questionaire to be answered below. But first let me share with you why I still show up here to share my stories and photos. It really is for me. It has become my virtual diary-art journal-book to document my life. It's a good life. A wild ride. A hard fall. And sometimes when one of you reads my story, witnesses my truth or simply admires my photo of the day, well then that is a bonus !! Because I have an impulse to share. The written word from my heart. A special moment captured in a photograph. Or maybe just a simple haiku. No matter what, I thank you for showing up to be a part of my story.

So Deb......

1. What are you currently working on?
My passion for sewing and needlework is to blame for creating an online Stitch & Swap group for women who share the same desire to slowly pass a needle and thread thru some interesting fabrics. We in turn swap with each other and now own a tiny piece of art from new friends we meet online. Our community is growing, as we support and share beyond the needle and thread. We communicate about our daily struggles with health and family matters, what size needle to use and of course what is the theme of the next swap !!! The amazing process of beginning a lifelong friendship begins with an online presence...which is why is still blog.

2. How does your work differ from others of its genre?
I am random. I am Mish Mash. I prefer raw edges, messy colors with wild abandon. If you like what I am doing, you better take it in, because when the wind changes, so do I. This is why I still blog.
3. Why do you write/create what you do?
I write without thinking too much. It is my way of vomiting out what needs to let go. I create what my gut tells me...not what I think the public needs to buy or approve of. I create stuff that makes me happy. That is why I still blog.
4. How does your writing/creating process work?
My online presence may seem like I sit on this red yoga ball all day long at the computer. Not true. I am designing my next art doll while I brush my teeth. I am dictating my next blogpost at 3 am when the Full Moon awakens me. I impulsively stop by the side of the road on the way to buy groceries to shoot a very important selfie, for She is Three, deadline in two hours !!! That's how I roll. And that's why I blog.

Gotta get it down. Gotta write, shoot, make, create.
Sharing is caring.

Whew...enough about me....

I want to introduce you to three of my favorite Bloggy Friends who will join the Blog Tour next Monday. I hope you will stop by their bloggy spot and see what they are up to !

Robin of One Still Frame captured my heart several years ago with her ability to sincerely document one of my mantras in life Be. Here. Now. Her photography really does cause me to pause. " I strive for simple in my blog. I believe in finding the ordinary with my lens eye...making it extraordinary. I spend time on my belly waiting for a dandelion wisp to break free and take flight...and I spend way too much time on my porch, in my rocker, just “BE”ing. "

Kelli May-krenz  captured my heart one weekend as we shared table space at an art retreat. Her sense of humor got me thru some difficult artistic challenges and her amazing talent on the canvas sent me to the Moon and back ! This is the kind of words Kelli shares day to day " Lots of paints, inks, layers of life pouring into a little art."

Jodi aka Whispered Truths aka loudnonsense is a friend I met on Instagram.  Let's just say this about that....her self portrait pulled me deeply into her. "i spend my days hammering out life, giving words of self love and boldness. i have a deep tenderness for all living souls and hope to encourage to live out loud every bit of the self to call the troubles mere poetic wanderings."
oh those lips, "Free Your Mind" by Jodi
