another good day, repost from July 2008
When the art is flowing, and the muse is working overtime, ya gotta be with it! Pay attention. Don't let go. Forget the laundry, the dinner, the aching feet and back.....just go get a jug of wine, a bottle of water, a handful of trail mix, light another stick of incense, spin another record and open the door to allow the cool evening breeze to tame the sweaty brow. LET THE MAGIC BEGIN! Fish are sewn, old jeans are transformed into aprons, bottle caps and old wool sweaters become precious little pincushions!

remnants, a buried treasure
Seth, over at Buried Treasure, started a project to uncover an old favorite post in our archives. I am here at my Moms house again, one year later, experiencing the same pleasures of one year ago!
I have come to the Atlantic Ocean off the coast of Florida to nurse my mother after her knee replacement surgery. Normally we would be walking on the beach taking photos of our barefeet in the sand. We might photograph pink flowers, bikini butts, umbrella drinks and sandcastles. But after bedside sitting tonight I have come to the end of my day to take pictures of what is left on the beach nearby her house and hospital room. It is a true fact that no day is a bad day spent at the beach. There is nothing like sand between your toes, the gritty, wet film on your skin, the sound of a huge heartbeat all around your body as the pulse of the waves serenade your weary ears. Whenever I need to feel calm, I go to the waters edge.

just around the corner
here are a few colors in the neighborhood of my Moms house here in Merritt Island, Florida and on the beach at Jetty Park, Cape Canaveral where we watched the space shuttle launch a couple nights ago. I have come to the waters edge once again, to enjoy the warmth of family and lush of the green tropical Florida vegetation. And by the way, all you Texans I left behind for one week, I am enjoying temps BELOW 100 degrees and a lovely thunderstorm and hard rain every afternoon....ahhh RELIEF!!!
