Boy do I get this... Living here in desert SW can be paradise, but it hot and dry as a bone right now. Get photo and and LOVE your haiku. Maybe we should do a rain dance.
Same here in New Jersey, Deb! (Well, not quite, I guess.) I love this iconic image of the old west with weathered boards, bailing wire, old license plate, and the blazing sun trying to get in~

It's delightfully warm by the beach, but I know you live in hot summer country. I am smiling at your photo and haiku.
Love, love, LOVE this post! I remember asking myself that question from May through October -- then again when the northers hit.
I think my boys (dogs) would like to live in Texas, they're spending a lot of time shaking at the rain storms just now! ;~)

I join Rebecca in doing a raindance - and will tell the wind to blow some of our rainy clouds your way!
But it beats snow and ice don’t you think?
All the best, Boonie
I ask myself the same questions here in Florida! And I have the same answer :)
Why do I live on top of this arctic mountaintop in So Cal???
