Cups for Cure

October is Breast Cancer Awareness. I was a contributing photographer again for this years Art Bra Calender. Here are a few shots from the photo shoot, and the Pink Ribbon Affair. If you want to purchase a $10 calender 2011, contact me. All proceeds go to the Lee County Cancer Support Center. The models are survivors wearing the art bras submitted to the contest...it was a very moving day for me. Thank you to the  brave, strong women of this project and to their families who support them thru it all.

Happy Birthday Jean

Today my friend Jean Synodinos turns 50. She is a singer/songwriter living in Austin, Texas. I met her one year ago when I photographed the CUPS FOR CURE Calender. She is a breast cancer survivor. She is beautiful, clever and always witty! I am honored to be her Photography Mentor in earning her Girl Scout Badge! YEP...you read that right...she is tempering her mid-life crisis by launching a three year project to earn over 100 badges in the Junior Girl Scout Handbook. Is that hilarious? What an adventure to start at 50 years of age! I am actually giggling as I type this. Come watch this You Tube Video as she explains her project, and also her video YES is a Sexy Word  yes, oh yes!
HAPPY BIRTHDAY BEAUTIFUL LADY!

Goodbye August

Hello September. As busy as you are going to be...BRING IT ON...I am ready for ya...or am I??
We are in a serious kitchen remodel mode as we are almost ready for appliances to be installed. This one has been a bitch...but maybe, just maybe, soon I will be cooking up some fine meals again on a real stove!! Last weekend was full of two very different photo shoots...one for the Fayette County Cancer Research Center for the ART BRA CALENDER, same one I did last year. Strong, beautiful, brave women who have won their cancer battle and are SURVIVORS! Now they are models for the upcoming calender, under wraps, but I am showing a few peeks here!

My next event was with Gretchen Morans Pitchfork Suppers, here in Round Top...a gathering of locals and out of towners to celebrate their passion for interesting food and drink.

full cups

I am going to a party tonight. I will wear a cute black dress, silver earrings and fancy shoes. My tiny cancer-free breasts will be with me. The only body part missing on me is my uterus, two wisdom teeth and 6 pack of abs I had 3 years ago! I will be in the company of gorgeous women...school teachers, nurses, singers and entertainers...some with , some without breasts. some shy, some out-loud-and-proud. none the less...they are all SURVIVORS. women. wives. sisters. lovers. girlfriends. aunts. daughters. mothers. neighbors. I sat with them last week around a table with wine, time and trust. They told their stories about "day of diagnosis," chemo, bald heads, tears and fears. We laughed and cried so hard we doubled over in our chairs as we wiped away the flood of tears. I am honored and humbled to share with you some of the photographs I took for "CUPS FOR THE CAUSE" 2010 calender. (available to you if you wish to purchase) All proceeds benefit the Lee County Cancer Resource Center

Party in Pink

In honor of so many of us who have been, are, and will be touched with Breast Cancer, today I decided to party with the rest of the Pink Survivors and celebrate their life, health and victory over their own battle with breast cancer. These photographs I took are for the Creative Cups for the Cause 2010 Calender. I can not begin to describe to you the joy and celebration that took place during these photo shoots. If you are in the local area, please join us for the Pink Ribbon Affair where the art bras and other items will be up for auction, to raise money for the Lee County Area Cancer Support Center in Giddings. and if you want a $15 calender, just email me. Today I honor each and every one of you in the calender who allowed me to photograph your beautiful body. I am also paying tribute to Cher, The Texas Woman my friend Marilynn aka "Dancing Moon", and Stacey Gaecke. Each and every one of you are heros in my heart. Carry on and kick cancer in the ass!!and come visit The Domestic Fringe for the party~ Save a breast...SELF TEST~

Creative Cups for the Cause

I had the privilege and honor to photograph a group of amazing, beautiful, strong, brave, fabulous SURVIVORS! They are modeling Art Bras submitted to a local Quilt Store Contest. The bras will be auctioned off at the annual Pink Ribbon Affair October 13 in Giddings, Texas. This calender is available for $15, all proceeds go to the Lee County Area Cancer Resource Center. This facility offers group support meetings, which is especially convenient for those who live too far away from Austin or Houston. Much more about that later.....but for now.....here are some sneak peeks at the 2010 Calender, hot off the press. Drop me an email if you want to purchase a calender! (You will find it over to the right on the sidebar)
