In Seattle you haven't had enough coffee until
you can thread a sewing machine while it's running

My granddaughter came to
spend a few weeks with me,
and I decided to teach her to sew.
After I had
gone through a lengthy explanation
of how to thread the machine,
she stepped
back, put her hands on her hips,
and said in disbelief,
"You mean you can
do all that,
but you can't play my Game Boy?"

dear sew and sew,
you are a running stitch straight to my heart! i love it when i know you are sewing because i am aware of the great peace that envelopes you when you do, and the great beauty that finds its way into the world through your hands.
great quotes too!
I have nothing but the utmost respect for what you do with your hands and your sewing machine. Your needlework is a meditation in itself. Beautiful! I am sure your granddaughter will remember this time years from now.

I love those fabric blocks of varying sizes all stitched together. To my way of thinking, this is the best sort of quilting (along with crazy quilting).
How I would love for us to all to sit together in a sewing circle! Did you know my love is a great sewer? He's an upholsterer and sewing is one of his specialist areas.

We have the same sewing machine! I love it because it is indestructible...just a little maintenance now and then.
