Sew and Sew

All my scattering moments are taken up with my needle

 Apart from yoga, meditation, reading,
it has to be one of the most serene things to do

Sewing mends the soul

In Seattle you haven't had enough coffee until
you can thread a sewing machine while it's running
~Jeff Bezos~

My granddaughter came to spend a few weeks with me,
and I decided to teach her to sew.
After I had gone through a lengthy explanation
of how to thread the machine,
she stepped back, put her hands on her hips,
and said in disbelief,
"You mean you can do all that,
but you can't play my Game Boy?"

After a few weeks of secret sewing projects for
the Junk Gypsy HGTV series
(which will premiere in next Spring
and run for 13 weeks)
my cup is full of sewing satisfaction!

It looks like you're making a quilt of the happy belly. Your videos aren't working.

I have nothing but the utmost respect for what you do with your hands and your sewing machine. Your needlework is a meditation in itself. Beautiful! I am sure your granddaughter will remember this time years from now.

I love those fabric blocks of varying sizes all stitched together. To my way of thinking, this is the best sort of quilting (along with crazy quilting).

How I would love for us to all to sit together in a sewing circle! Did you know my love is a great sewer? He's an upholsterer and sewing is one of his specialist areas.

We have the same sewing machine! I love it because it is indestructible...just a little maintenance now and then.
